Senior Executive Directors visit site
Earlier this month, senior executive directors from Equans paid a special visit to Goat Wharf to note the progress being made and to receive an introduction to the scheme.
Two senior executive directors from Equans, including Keith Murphy, Equans' UK Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Director were invited to our Goat Wharf scheme recently to be given an overview of the project and receive an update on our progress.
The special visitors were personally escorted around the site by members of the site team whilst being given background information about the job, the current build and the scope of works being undertaken. They took a detailed look at the works in progress both internally and externally and whilst on site took the opportunity to join the site team in presenting this month's Contractor of the Month award to scaffolding company, Sean Doyle Scaffolding.
Sean Doyle Scaffolding who are currently erecting scaffolding to 5 of the 6 blocks on the project, varying between 4 and 17 stories were presented this month's award due to their good site attendance record, hard work, H&S compliance and for standing out regarding the volume of work they completed this month.
As a result of receiving this month's award, a representative of the company was presented with a certificate and £50 voucher as well as having their company name written on the site SHEQ board until next month's award.

Site team achieve top marks for Considerate Constructors Scheme!
The team at Goat Wharf have achieved an impressive top score of 45/45 from their recent audit visit by the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS).
When the CCS monitor visited the scheme at the end of October to carry out their audit of the site, they commented things like "With the project further progressing, the scaffold will shortly start to be removed, appropriate measures continue to ensure any inconvenience to residents is kept to the minimum. A residents website had been introduced and the fun day arrangements had successfully taken place.
"Scheme requirements were well covered in the environmental and workforce sections too."
The CCS is an independent organisation founded to raise standards in the construction industry to ensure all construction sites present an image of competent management, efficiency, awareness of environmental issues and above all neighbourliness. Monitors from the scheme regularly audit our sites to ensure we are adhering to the scheme’s Code of Considerate Practice which is designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirement.
Each audit is split into three categories; respect for the community, protecting the environment and valuing the workforce each with a potential score out of 15 with a total combined max score of 45 available. To score above 13 in any category warrants an excellent level of achievement for that category.
Congratulations to the site team, who work so hard every day to maintain such high standards
