Resident newsletter - September 2024
Welcome to your latest works update - this is where we will regularly update you on our progress with the works being undertaken at Mackintosh Lane.
These updates are provided by members of the site team and are always as up to date as possible, however If you have any queries, questions or concerns about the works please contact your appointed Resident Liaison Officer (RLO).
Welcome to your September newsletter - it is our intention to provide a regular update to the residents at 5-7 Mackintosh Lane as to what works have taken place and what works are upcoming. In between these updates the site team will be contacting you to make appointments for any surveys or works that need to be done to the outside or near your flat.
Our progress to date:
- We have stripped all timber cladding from the roof to level 1 on both blocks
- We have protected all intruder escape routes on both blocks and we have also protected the OSB boards with Monoflex
- Installation of goods hoists and fire alarms on the scaffold on both blocks has also been completed
- There is now a Field View Operator on site to take photos of the ongoing works to ensure compliance with current building regulations and manufacturer's specifications
Our next step:
- Appointment of subcontractors for the removal of non-fire related OSB boards to be replaced with compliant fire-rated Y-wall has been completed
Reminders:
- Your health and safety is our priority! Please ensure that all rubbish is put into the bins and not on the floor or the access to the back. This has serious potential health and safety implications
- We are also appealing to you to refrain from engaging in activities that have the potential of endangering your life and that of your neighbours, these include; organising barbecues on your balcony, throwing bottles, sharps, cigarette butts or other dangerous items on your balcony
- Please ensure that all items are removed from your balcony for ease of access to our contractors
Resident respite area:
We have commenced with the residents' coffee mornings in our respite area. As a reminder, the respite area is a place to relax with a cup of coffee or tea and biscuits while having a chat with the site team about the ongoing works or reading your favourite thriller novel. You're all welcome to visit. For more details about using the respite area and the facilities available, please speak to your RLO.
