Security and Safety Information
Important security and safety information
Your safety is our priority. We will do everything possible to ensure that the work is carried out safely and minimise disruption to you as much as possible. All building work carries an element of risk, you can help minimise this risk by following these guidelines:
- Never go onto the scaffold.
- Never throw cigarette ends or rubbish onto the scaffold.
- Keep children away from the work area/s and do not leave them alone in the home while work is being carried out.
- Keep your pets in other rooms.
- Ensure you have all your keys returned from us upon completion of the work.
- Always ask to see identification before allowing workmen into your property.
- Your home becomes a temporary workplace when work is being carried out, and all operatives are not allowed to smoke within your home. All site operatives can only smoke in designated areas.
- Inform your home contents insurers of the work. There is normally no increase in premium, but not telling them may invalidate your policy.
What should you expect from us?
All contractors and staff will follow the points below when they are in your home:
- Carry out work between 8.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, except in an emergency when works may be outside these hours.
- Introduce themselves and show proof of identity.
- Explain to you what they will be doing.
- Not play radios or smoke in your home.
- Keep your home secure whilst working there.
- Clean up at the end of each day.
- Explain what will happen next if they leave and postpone any part of the work.
