Resident update - August

Welcome to your resident's update from Equans. This is a great way for us to keep you up to date with all the work that has been going on so far and what we expect to achieve going forward.

If you have any queries about the works being undertaken by Equans, please direct your query to your appointed Resident Liaison Officer, Trevon Mengot by calling 07811704593.

As you will be aware, Equans has been appointed by Southern Housing to replace cladding and associated fire remediation works at Whytecliffe Road.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Southern Housing would like residents to pick from the different colour schemes available, which colour they would like their communal area to look like. The colour scheme with the most votes will be the one used on each landing, corridors and doors of the building. A voting decision will be made once all residents choices have been collected and counted - view your choices by clicking here.

Monoflex: This is the white sheeting on the facade of the building, this material assists with keeping the building safe and dry in case of a fire. Currently the team are carrying out a change of monoflex to a better graded product rated on all levels.

Debris netting: The scaffolders are replacing the old debris netting with the new TS62 certified (tree red strips) fire retardant debris netting on all levels.

Weekly updates: We will start issuing out a weekly update to every resident to pre-warn and make you aware of any upcoming works so you can plan accordingly. Balcony works are currently on hold to avoid damage to the decking as we need to carry out brickwork investigations.

Fire stopping: We will be carrying out fire stopping works in all internal common areas on every floor. After the fire stopping works have been carried out and completed, Southern Housing will organise for the decoration of the internal communal areas.

We are now experiencing delays with the programme due to unforeseen issues we have encountered and no access to erect the scaffolding to the side of the building due to another site carrying out their own work. The team are liaising with them to resolve these issues before proceeding on with the work.

Monthly residents meeting: We would like to invite you to our next residents meeting taking place on 7th September on Microsoft Teams from 6pm - we will send you a link.

Reminder: We advise all residents to close their windows to prevent dust and debris from entering your flat during working hours. We would also like to kindly ask all residents to inform the site team of any contractors or deliveries during our working hours (8am-5pm, Mon-Fri) to avoid any disruptions to the works.
