Works update - September 2023
Welcome to your resident's update from Equans. This is a great way for us to keep you up to date with all the work that has been going on so far and what we expect to achieve going forward.
If you have any queries about the works being undertaken by Equans, please direct your query to your appointed Resident Liaison Officer, Sanusi Conteh by calling 07855 967 608.
As you will be aware, Equans has been appointed by Southern Housing to replace cladding and associated fire remediation works at Whytecliffe Road.
Our progress so far:
Monoflex: The low-graded monoflex is currently being replaced with a fire-rated quality monoflex on all levels of the building.
Debris netting: The old debris netting has been replaced with the new TS62 certified (three red strips) fire retardant debris netting on all levels.
Weekly update: We have commenced issuing out a weekly update to every resident to keep you abreast with the ongoing works and for you to be able to send in your comments, concerns and feedback to enable us to take prompt actions to improve our work.
Balcony works: This is currently on hold to avoid damage to the decking as we need to carry out brickwork investigations.
Fire-stopping: This will soon commence in all internal common areas on every floor.
Colour schemes: We are looking forward to achieving this project through the choices you make of your preferred colour.
Monthly residents meeting: We would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to you for your continued participation in the monthly residents' meetings which is a way to channel your views and concerns on the ongoing works, as well as a forum for you to establish good interpersonal relationships with staff and your neighbours to promote community solidarity and cohesion.
Our next residents' meeting will take place on Thursday 5th October 2023 on Microsoft Teams from 6pm - a link to this meeting will be sent to your email.
During the meeting there will be an opportunity to provide your views, concerns and ask questions. Representatives from both Equans and Southern Housing will be present.
Macmillan Cancer Support: We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all those who attended and graciously donated to this wonderful cause. The coffee morning was not just about meeting together to drink coffee, but to hold a cup of coffee and reflect on the effects of cancer on a loved-one, be it a father, mother, son, daughter, sibling, family friend or someone you have seen battling with the disease. The effect is excruciatingly mind boggling and heart wrenching. We are all humans with a sense of feeling and empathy for one another!
