Hallam Court Works Update - 16th October 2023
Welcome to your latest works update where we regularly update you on our progress with the works being undertaken at Hallam Court.
If you have any queries, questions or concerns about the works please contact your appointed Resident Liaison Officer (RLO), Michael Olaadedini on 07402 861 522.
It is our intention to provide a regular update to residents as to what works have taken place and what works are upcoming. In between these updates the site team will be contacting you to make appointments for any surveys or works that need to be done to the outside of your flat or near your flat.
Our progress to date:
- Completion of scaffold to the rear of the block
- Completion of the front balcony decking and the rear balcony decking
- Gas surveys 85% complete
- Works to the respite area ongoing
Windows - We would like to remind everyone to keep their windows closed (due to potential but not anticipated noise/debris/dust etc.) as well as the privacy element. The debris from all of the works is very light and can easily be blown back into your property.
Scaffold Health & Safety Risk - We would like to remind everyone not to smoke on their balconies and throw cigarette butts on the scaffold along with other items such as rubbish, toys etc. Unfortunately, cigarettes and cigarette butts can easily be blown back into the building and/or onto the scaffold or existing cladding and cause a fire.
Residents Meeting: Our next resident's meeting will be held via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 25th September from 6pm-6.30pm. To join: Type in the meeting ID - 328 627 605 432 and passcode - ptmJVJ
Minutes from the last resident meeting held on 27th September:
Q1: Are you going to clean the windows after the completion of the project?
Yes, as the works progress, there will be a light clean. Certainly, Equans will carry out a full cleaning of both windows and frames at the end of the project.
Q2: What are the timescales for these works?
Each project can last up to 8-12 months from start. Whilst we have made a start to the balconies, works to the external wall have not started yet, due to the design needing confirmation. As soon as the design is confirmed, a completion date will be shared.
Q3: Why do we need the respite?
During the remediation works, operatives will be using power tools which will create some loud noise, the respite will serve as a relaxation unit for our residents.
