Olivia Court Works Update - 16th October 2023

Welcome to your latest works update - this is where we will regularly update you on our progress with the works being undertaken at Olivia Court.

If you have any queries, questions or concerns about the works please contact your appointed Resident Liaison Officer (RLO), Michael Olaadedini on 07402 861 522.

It is our intention to provide a regular update to the residents at Olivia Court as to what works have taken place and what works are upcoming. In between these updates the site team will be contacting you to make appointments for any surveys or works that need to be done to the outside of near your flat.

Our progress to date:

  • Respite unit has commenced at Olivia Court
  • Front scaffold elevation will be completed this week
  • We are currently visiting residents to complete the resident property profile and pre-condition survey

Over the next month:

  • Decking installations will commence this month
  • Stripping if balcony fence, with replacement of temporary fencing will commence this month

Important information:

Windows: We would like to remind everyone to keep their windows closed (due to potential but not anticipated noise/debris/dust etc.) as well as the privacy element. The make of the insulation to the rear is EPS which is very light and can easily be blown back into your property.

Scaffold Health & Safety Risk: We would also like to remind residents not to smoke on their balconies and throw cigarette butts on the scaffold along with other items such as rubbish, toys etc. Unfortunately, cigarettes and cigarette butts can easily be blown back into the building and/or onto the scaffold or existing cladding and cause a fire.

Unauthorised access: Please note that only Equans employees and their representatives are permitted access to scaffolding. For their own safety, no other persons are allowed to climb onto the scaffold under any circumstances - this applies particularly to children! Any authorised persons accessing the scaffold outside of our normal working hours (Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm) should be immediately reported to the Police.

Residents Meeting: Our next resident's meeting will be held via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 25th October from 6.30pm. To join: Type in the meeting ID - 358 133 790 392 and passcode - FwkcfU

Minutes from resident meeting held on 27th September:

Q1: Do we have a completion date for this project?
For now, there is no definitive answer about when the project is going to be finished.

Q2: Residents asked, after stripping off the balcony, what measure are they going to put in place?
Afterwards, the balcony will be replaced with temporary fencing and the decking will be installed before installing permanent balustrades.

Q3: Can we see the decking and the balustrades samples?
Yes, the RLO will show residents the decking and balustrade samples. The residents can also check our site office.
