Noel Park Pod & Major Works Project

Welcome to the microsite for Noel Park, this site provides information about the works we are undertaking and gives you the opportunity to read all the latest news, ask questions, get in touch and have your say.

Equans is the leading provider of regeneration services in the UK - covering everything from community regeneration and refurbishment to repairs, maintenance and housing development. We're passionate about creating vibrant, efficient and sustainable communities, using integrated energy and services which make a real difference to people's lives.

Equans has been selected by Haringey Council to deliver their Noel Park major works and pod replacement project, which includes major works to tenanted properties, as well as, 116 modular bathroom pods.

Equans will be carrying out various surveys to establish the scope of works and develop the design for the modular pods that will be subject to planning approval. Once all approvals are granted, Equans will be able to provide a detailed programme of works and further consultations will be arranged with residents.

For more information about Equans or Haringey Council you can always visit the Equans website or the Haringey Council website.

How Equans is making a difference

Residents of Noel Park in Haringey, will benefit from Equans' services and experience as we undergo a series of replacement and refurbishment works to the area to improve properties and reduce carbon levels at and around Noel Park.

What benefits can Noel Park and local residents expect:

  • Replacement of modular bathroom pods
  • Refurbishment works to more than 240 dwellings (repairs and redecorations)
  • Community value: Small DIY works and local community sessions for residents
  • Reduced carbon footprint which improves air quality in the area
  • Improved conditions for residents and better aesthetic of the area
  • Polite and professional site team
  • Experienced Resident Liaison Officers (RLOs) to support you during the works

Before works commence we will carry out a pre-construction survey. It's critical that access is allowed for all surveys, failure to provide access may result in delays to the project and works within your home.

You can also refer to the Resident's Information Booklet's for Phase 1 and Phase 2 for further details about the works being undertaken, this can be found within the Document Library.

  • Works update - November

We are currently carrying out external (pod related) hardstanding, re-instatement of the garden to their previous condition and snagging works to the pods of the two pilot properties.

If you would like an update on works being undertaken at your specific property please contact your RLOs, Hayley on 07816 097 737 or Lyn on 07767 648 158.

  • Images of example void properties now available

We now have images available as an example of the void properties residents will be requested to decant into throughout the duration of the works to their home in order to install the pods.

A selection of the images have been displayed below, further images can be found within our image library or by clicking here.

  • First modular pod installed!

On 3rd November the first modular extension pod was installed!

The bad weather didn't stop the team from successfully craning the first modular pod into position. A great team effort from everyone involved ensured a nervous procedure went as smoothly as it did.

Click here to watch a video of the successful installation.

As a reminder, a 'show pod' is available for viewing - if you'd like to view the 'show pod' please call your RLOs Hayley or Lyn.

  • Site office given spooky transformation in Halloween spirit

    supporting image

The Equans site office underwent a spooky transformation this Halloween complete with gravestones for the site team.

The Noel Park site team joined in all the Halloween fun when they decided to decorate their site office including gravestones, pumpkins and a huge spider whilst also giving out sweets to local trick or treaters.

RLO, Hayley had the genius idea of re-using some old roof slates to make gravestones for the entire site team which was just the finishing touch the transformed site office was missing.

Local residents hosted a trick or treat estate walk round with more than 40 children in-toe, and everyone was invited to decorate their home and hand out treats.

We hope everyone enjoyed our goodies and we look forward to seeing all the pictures from local residents.

  • Painted mural helps improve site appearance

Residents of Noel Park now have beautiful artwork to look at rather than blank hoardings thanks to a painted mural commissioned by Equans.

Equans recently installed a 'show pod' so that residents could see first hand what their new kitchen and bathroom pods would look like once installed. As the pods were facing residents' properties Equans decided to commission some artwork that would include some of Haringey's highlights, as well as improving the site's appearance.

Feedback from local residents has been overwhelmingly positive. Once the show pod completes it's two month display, the hoarding will be moved to the local Changing Gears social enterprise at the nearby Russell Park, so it can continue to be enjoyed by the community.

  • Equans promotes construction careers at employment & jobs fair

Equans staff promoted careers in construction to residents at a recent Haringey employment and jobs fair.

On 7th October, Equans' Social Value Manager, Julian Sanz, was joined by Learning & Development Officer, Suzanne Bingham, as they spoke to residents about the variety of careers available within the construction industry.

The event was attended by more than 300 residents and included guest speakers such as Judith Page (Assistant Director of Housing Property Services for Haringey Council) who spoke about careers in construction and unblocking those careers for women wanting to enter the industry.

The day was a great success with Julian and Suzanne helping 15 residents apply for jobs with Equans via our online portal, another five candidates were given interview dates for some of available Resident Liaison positions.

If you would like to know more about the career opportunities at Equans please visit https://jobs.equans.co.uk/
