Mencap garden revitalised thanks to Equans volunteers
A communal Mencap garden has been transformed thanks to a team of Equans volunteers.
On 20th September, Equans staff generously volunteered their time to assist Social Value Manager, Patrick Warren in an initiative to renovate a Mencap communal garden.
The team of volunteers which varied from a Senior Contracts Manager and SHEQ Administrator to a Training Coordinator and Development Director spent the week working hard to remove the old planters, greenhouse and shed in order to replace them with new ones and transform the garden for residents to once again enjoy.
Patrick also received assistance from members of our supply chain, including KM Eco and Speedy Services whom have both provided help and support on a number of initiatives organised by Equans.

Garden at sheltered scheme transformed thanks to Equans volunteers
The garden at a sheltered scheme in Hertfordshire has been transformed thanks to Equans staff who volunteered their time to undertake the renewal works.
On 15th September, Equans' Social Value Manager was joined by several Equans staff who generously volunteered their time to help renovate and renew the garden at Dixon Place, a sheltered scheme in Buntingford, Hertfordshire.
Assisted with help from our supply chain partners, KM Eco and Speedy Services, the Equans volunteer team spent the entire day removing weeds, trimming shrubs, removing dead leaves and generally preparing the garden ready for a planting day planned for the following week.
Fortunately the volunteer team had good weather for the day and managed to complete their tasks unhindered by rain.

Equans contribute to Widnes Foodbank
As part of our social value commitment to Clarion, Equans has made a significant contribution to the local foodbank in Widnes.
The team currently overseeing our works within the Cherry Sutton area of Widnes have been collecting donations of food for The Trussell Trust Widnes Foodbank.
When the senior leadership team visited site back in July they brought along bags of food for the site team's collection. Senior Resident Liaison Officer, Ken Williams alongside subcontractors, Walker Roofing, Aspect Plumbing and GAP also donated items for the collection raising the total of well over £200 worth of food.
The collection was delivered to the Widnes Foodbank warehouse on Friday 18th August.
Eileen Foy from the Widnes Foodbank, said:
"Thank you so much for the donation, it really is appreciated as donations have dropped off recently due to the cost of living crisis. We can make a big difference with this donation."

West Midlands residents attend open day
West Midlands Equans team host open day for local residents to introduce them to the scheme and answer any queries or concerns about the works.
In August, Equans staff hosted an open day for residents of Tyler Court to inform them about the works that would be taking place including roofing, communal entrance doors and internal communal decorations. The event also served to give residents an idea of timescales and scope of works.
